Factors Affecting Dry Magnetic Separator Index(3)

Because the fine-grained tailings throw belt is narrow and the distance between the grade of the tailings belt and the casing does not change significantly, the baffle can be closer to the casing. In this way, the tailings grade does not increase much, which is good for the improvement of concentrate taste.

Production practice has proved that the selected particle size has a great impact on dry magnetic separation index. In order to reduce this impact, the actual operation should be determined according to the specific situation. In Beijing Iron Mine, the ores with the selected particle size of 200 mesh accounting for 25% are divided into coarse grade with -200 mesh content of 5%-8% and fine grade with -200 mesh content of 50%-60%. A good index of selection was obtained.

The moisture of ore has a certain effect on the dry magnetic separation, especially on the fine grade separation. Because the water will improve the "magnetic group" bonding, so that the "magnetic group" combination more firm, and, easy to stick on the shell, although increase centrifugal force, can not improve indicators, but sometimes worse. Therefore, when the ore moisture is large in the rainy season, the proportion of block ore can be appropriately increased to reduce the water content and mud content of ore. When the water content has a great influence on the separation index, the operation can be adjusted by reducing the ore feed and ensuring the availability of qualified concentrate products. When the water content of coarse ore is less than 2%, it has no significant effect on the separation index. When the water content of fine grade ore is less than 2.5%, it has no significant effect on the separation index.

The magnetic rate of ore also has an impact on the magnetic separation index. When the magnetic rate is high, the tailings grade should be reduced as far as possible and the recovery rate should be improved on the basis of ensuring the quality of concentrate. When the magnetic rate is low, the main operation should be to ensure the grade of concentrate, but also pay attention to reduce the grade of tailings.
