Product Introduction
Permanent agnet alnico are a class of low-cost, renewable energy-free magnets made from key elements and trace amounts of copper and titanium. Several magnet grades are available in cast and sintered forms. AlNiCo is an anisotropic cast magnet with the highest energy product and high intrinsic coercivity. Directionally solidified castings undergo extensive machining to achieve the final net shape and are prone to defects that must be re-machined or scrapped, resulting in increased costs and material waste. The use of NiCo magnets in permanent magnet motors is very limited because of their very low resistance to demagnetization. In addition, permanent magnet alnico must have larger sizes to produce the same magnetic flux in the air gap. Attempts to reduce Co content are challenged by a decrease in saturation magnetization and coercivity, indicating the need for a cost-effective texturing process. Additive manufacturing can be used to produce AlNiCo pellets. In addition to all other advantages, additive manufacturing allows for better control of the grain texture, enabling tailored isotropic and isotropic properties in AlNiCo pellets.
Properties of permanent magnet alnico
Permanent magnet alnico exhibit several key properties that make them suitable for a wide range of applications:
High magnetic strength: Although not as strong as rare-earth magnets like neodymium and samarium-cobalt, permanent magnet alnico possess a high magnetic energy product (maximum energy product ranges from 5.5 to 9 MGOe) and can produce strong magnetic fields.
High-temperature performance: One of the most notable features of permanent magnet alnico is their exceptional temperature stability. They can withstand high operating temperatures up to 550°C (1022°F) without significant loss of magnetic performance, making them suitable for high-temperature applications where other types of magnets might fail.
Corrosion resistance: Alnico magnets exhibit excellent corrosion resistance and typically do not require any surface coatings or treatments, reducing maintenance requirements and improving their longevity.
Low coercivity: Alnico magnets have relatively low coercivity, which means they are more susceptible to demagnetization when exposed to external magnetic fields or temperature changes. This property makes them less suitable for applications where strong external magnetic fields are present.
