Product Introduction
Alnico magnets are an alloy composed of aluminum, nickel, cobalt, iron and other trace elements. There are two different production processes for Alnico permanent magnets: casting and sintering. The casting process can be processed into different sizes and shapes; compared with the casting process, the sintered products are limited to small sizes, and the sintered blanks produced have better dimensional tolerances than the cast product blanks, and the magnetic properties are slightly lower than the cast products, but the machinability is better. Alnico has a strong ability to resist rust, and the surface does not need to be electroplated.
Characteristics of AlNiCo magnets
Compared to other modern permanent magnets, AlNiCo alloys have low coercivity and high Curie temperature. They are easily demagnetized and therefore must be used with a high aspect ratio or in a closed magnetic circuit. AlNiCo alloys are hard and brittle and are not suitable for cold working. They are either cast or sintered.
One of the advantages of AlNiCo permanent magnets is high remanence (up to 1.35T) and low temperature coefficient. When the temperature coefficient is -0.02%/℃, the maximum operating temperature can reach about 520℃. The disadvantage is that the coercivity is very low (usually less than 160kA/m) and the demagnetization curve is nonlinear. Therefore, AlNiCo magnets are easily demagnetized.
