1. NdFeB aging is divided into two situations:

1) High-temperature demagnetization and aging, exceeding the maximum operating temperature of NdFeB, the magnetic properties will be reduced or irreversible loss will occur.

2)Surface aging, without surface treatment or improper plating treatment, is prone to oxidation, corrosion, and accelerated aging.

2. Analysis of the main causes of NdFeB aging

1) High temperature environment

There are many grades of NdFeB magnets, and each grade has a different maximum operating temperature and Curie temperature. When the maximum operating temperature is exceeded, the magnetic properties of NdFeB will be irreversibly lost. When the Curie temperature is exceeded, the magnetism will be completely lost. The solution is to select the matching NdFeB grade according to the actual working environment.

2)Humid environment

NdFeB contains iron element, which is prone to oxidation and corrosion. In a humid or salt spray environment, it will be detrimental to the preservation of NdFeB magnetic materials. Long-term exposure to this humid environment will corrode the surface coating of NdFeB, which will accelerate the surface aging of NdFeB. The solution is to conduct salt spray testing and conduct salt spray coating tests of different lengths according to the actual environment.
