The forming methods of strontium ferrite magnet in magnetic field are mainly divided into wet forming and dry forming.
The forming speed of wet forming is slow, in order to exclude a large amount of water, the mold and equipment are complicated, and it is difficult to suppress the products with complex shapes and/or small sizes, which cannot meet the development needs of the product with high dimensional accuracy and shape and position tolerance, and also difficult to meet the diversification of ferrite product magnetization modes. Such as multipolar anisotropic magnetization, polarization anisotropic magnetization, radial anisotropic magnetization and other development needs.Dry molding refers to the method of filling the strontium ferrite presintering powder and additives with low moisture content into the molding space (mold cavity) and pressing molding in the magnetic field. Dry molding can usually solve the above wet molding problems, the equipment and mold is simple, low cost, pressing speed, high production efficiency, easy to realize production automation, and the product size accuracy is high, can produce complex shape small size products and high radial ratio of magnetic ring products and other unique advantages. However, due to the lack of moisture which can be used as dispersing and lubricating medium in the process of dry molding, the friction resistance between powder particles is relatively large, and it is easy to agglomerate, resulting in poor orientation of the green billet after molding and low magnetic properties of the product. Therefore, the magnetic properties of magnets produced by conventional dry molding are far lower than those produced by wet molding.
