Rectangular Magnetic Chunks are an alternative to traditional workholding fixtures because they use the magnetic force of permanent magnets to clamp and hold the workpiece. Our rectangular magnetic chunks are designed to provide customers with effective and immediate gripping force to consistently and securely hold the material they are handling. Rectangular magnets increase user productivity when grinding, cutting and milling ferrous metals.

The dimensions of rectangular Magnetic Chunks mainly include width, length, thickness and overall dimensions. Normally, the minimum width can reach 2.4mm, the maximum width can reach 20mm, the minimum length can reach 8mm, and the maximum length can reach 500mm, and the thickness can be customized according to the needs of customers.

The surface shape of the rectangular strong magnet can be selected according to different application environments and requirements. In general, there are various surface shapes such as round, triangular, square, arched, oval, and circular grooves to choose from.

How do they work?

A Rectangular Magnetic Chunk is activated by manually turning the key from on to off position. Within the chuck, the magnets are always active, however the magnetic flux remains locked inside the chuck when it is turned off. Once the chuck is turned on, the magnets are aligned with the top plate, and the magnetic flux travels above the top plate. When a work piece is applied to the top, it is secured as the flux is locked on to this. This will allow the user to securely work on the work piece.

Rectangular Magnetic Chunks have a lot of advantages, from improved safety through secure hold, to reduction in operational times and cost. All our chucks are designed with a parallel pitch top plate, allowing for multiple workpieces to be used at once. The magnetic force is spread across the whole face of the top plate ensuring high accuracy and safety, whilst preventing distortions in the workpiece when using.
